Publication Ethics

Authorship, originality, conflicts of interest and how we handle concerns.

Last updated: October 2026

Our commitment

AKIPH supports researchers in preparing and publishing their work. We expect, and encourage, the ethical practices described here at every stage. We use widely recognised guidance, such as that published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), as a reference point.

Authorship

  • Authorship should reflect a substantial contribution to the work.
  • Everyone who qualifies as an author is listed, and no one is listed who does not qualify.
  • All authors agree to the final manuscript and to its submission.
  • Changes to the author list are agreed in writing by all authors.

Originality and plagiarism

Work submitted for publication must be the authors' own, properly cited, and neither published nor under consideration elsewhere.

  • Do not submit the same work to more than one journal at the same time.
  • Do not reuse your own published text or data without disclosing it.
  • Quote and cite the work of others clearly.

Conflicts of interest

Authors should declare any financial or personal relationship that could reasonably be seen to influence the work. Declaring a conflict is normal and does not usually prevent publication.

What our support services do and do not do

  • We do not fabricate, alter or selectively report data or results.
  • We do not guarantee acceptance by any journal.
  • We only suggest journals we have checked for active, non-predatory status.
  • We do not add authors to a paper on anyone's behalf.

Corrections and concerns

If you find an error in published work or have an ethics concern, contact us. We will review it fairly and, where needed, refer it to the relevant journal or publisher, who are responsible for corrections and retractions.
